Who we are
River City Moto is a Tyre and Suspension Shop in County Durham in the North East of England. We specialise in fine-tuning and rebuilding suspension, finding the optimum settings for each rider. In addition to custom-tailored suspension services, we offer maintenance work, performance upgrades, and stock and install a variety of tyres and parts. With a focus on off-road dirt bikes and trials bikes, we also work on some on-road motorcycles.
How we got here
In 2021, Katie and Gary Whelpdale began the planning and structuring of River City Moto. From meeting at a vintage motorcycle show in Louisville, KY, to riding, working on bikes, and Gary’s racing, their lives have revolved around motorcycles and dirt bikes from the moment they met. Fast forward to 2024, their journey took them back to County Durham. Here, they had the opportunity to direct more focus on the evolving brand. River City Moto is a shared passion that has developed into a lifestyle and business.
With a history in on-road, off-road, and enduro riding, we know how important dialled-in suspension settings are. Proper suspension will vary greatly from rider to rider depending on multiple factors like height, weight, riding style, terrain, etc. Our goal is to create the best setup possible for each rider that comes to us so you can ride at peak performance. We are also a source of trusted parts and products that have been tried and tested, so you know you are riding with high-quality parts and materials.
